Life Group Questions

Colossians 3:1-4

Therefore, if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

  1. Read Colossians 3:1-4 and share with your Life Group what you believe Paul the Apostle is trying to say to the church.

  1. Pastor Paul stated that the way we set our minds on things above is by “Shifting and Sanctifying Our Thinking.” If a dear friend came to you and asked you for counsel on how they could “Shift and Sanctify” their thinking, what would your counsel be to them?

“If we are not sanctifying our thinking and seeking things above, we are already being pressed and molded to look and think like the rest of the world.”

  1. How does Colossians 3:3 strike you? Paul the Apostle calls us dead. What does Paul the Apostle mean by this, and what are you doing, (or can you do anything) to be “hidden” in Christ?

  1. Why is it so hard for our “secret identity” to be our only identity?
