Prosperity and Being an Overcomer
Life Group Questions
1. Pastor Paul taught us four things that we have to overcome if we want to experience the prosperity that God wants for us. The four were: Immaturity, Laziness, Passivity, and Lies About Yourself. Which of these four has been (or is) the biggest problem for you?
2. The Greek word for "son" that we looked at on Sunday, is the word "huios." It means father-likeness — having the nature and character of the Father. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your growth over the past 6 months toward father-likeness (which is the same as Christ-likeness, see Hebrews 1:3)?
3. Proverbs 22:13 says, "The lazy person claims, ‘There is a lion outside! If I go out there, I might be killed.’" Share an example from your past where you made a big, cheesy excuse for why you didn’t move forward on something God had for you.
4. Pastor Paul said, "The way you put on the new you is by renewing your mind. And renewing your mind means, first and foremost, changing the way you see yourself." He also added, "You are the only person or thing that can stop you from receiving your inheritance." How do these truths impact you?
